This new method is something
we like to call Vacuum brewing.
WHAT IS Vacuum brewing?
Our unique extraction process uses a double air pump to “Pull In” and “Push Out” the air in the sealed brewing chamber creating a vacuum.
This process repeats several times to make sure the ideal extraction / water ratio is achieved. This combination of static and dynamic extraction is not only more sufficient, but you can see the whole process!
The first air pump creates the “nevagitive pressure” that “Pulls” the water from the container into the brewing chamber to mix with the coffee ground and extract the flavor.
The air pumps then shut off to allow the water to fully immerse the grounds for a full and even extraction in the vacuum.
The second air pump then creates the “positive pressure“ that then “Pushes” the now mixed water from the brewing chamber, back to the container so that the grounds do not become over extracted.
The result is a smooth and intense - yet balanced flavor you can only get from a perfect extraction.

Automated from Start to finish
Using the built in Temperature probe, water is heated to the ideal extraction temperature. Because when using a hot water extraction, the appropriate water temperature is a crucial prerequisite for extraction.
Through the combination of static and dynamic pressure systems created by the Java Starr’s brewing process, contact time between water and coffee is precisely controlled, to achieve the ideal extraction, and consistent flavor.
Unlike other coffee machines, the Java Starr has no internal pipelines, meaning any part relevant to the extraction process is easily cleaned with the automated cleaning program or by hand. Avoiding imperfections in flavor and potential health hazards.

Cold Brew coffee without the wait
There are two ways to brew coffee with the Java Starr - with heat or without. With our cold brewing process, you simply use room temperature or cold water. Select the Cold-brew button on the control panel and let the Java Starr do the rest!
With this program selected the Java Starr will run extra, prolonged cycles to extract the same amount of flavor from your grounds that you would get with a hot water cycle.
You can also put the machine in the fridge during this process and/or pour it over ice afterwards for that true “iced coffee” experience.
